Berlin – During Fruit Logistica in Berlin Growers United and TerraChange Solar Ltd (TCS) signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to jointly explore the potential of TCS’ transparent solar panel technology for the greenhouse sector.
Terra Change Solar developed an Organic Solar Panel that absorbs chosen wavelengths and let others into the crop. It also reduces heat radiation what helps cooling the Greenhouse.
Through this collaboration, the parties aim to get insights of the value of the technology in greenhouse applications, including opportunities in energy generation and climate control, and to evaluate its practical relevance for growers.
The first steps and initial trials will take place within the Growers United Research Center. If results are positive, the collaboration will work towards broader implementation and scaling up with the growers of Growers United.
The LOI marks the starting point for further development and follow-up agreements between the parties.
